Zoom Poetry Club!
Poetry for Children ~ at home
Before half term, we started looking back at poems we had enjoyed when Zoom Poetry Club began. This was (to be honest) because I had had a very busy week – how does that happen in lockdown?
Over half term, my grand-daughter Abbie told me she was missing Poetry Club (as I was) and that she was liking it so much because
the stories in the poems were getting better …
It took me a little while to realise that she meant she understood the poems better because we had already visited them in previous weeks. Familiarity is so important with poetry. So here we go again, reviewing another couple of weeks: have fun!

Poetry club today was brilliant, one of the favourites was definitely ‘I’m carrying the baby’ by Michael Rosen, which I read to everyone. It is one of my favorites too, partly because of the humour of it. Another was ‘Sea Fever’ by John Masefield which I personally like because I can relate to it. I love the sea as well and can’t wait to get back out to the waves!
Thanks Abbie – your reading was excellent, I’m not surprised everyone enjoyed to so much! I love Sea Fever too! Lots of love, Gr’Anna xxx
