for one month only!
I saw this concert a couple of years ago at the Hay Festival and was completely wowed by it. Now, for one month only, you can watch the concert from the Natural History Museum.
It is absolutely glorious ~ I’ve watched it twice already ~ and although it is free, you can make a donation to the Urban Nature Project.
Before the concert, was the book! How I loved it when this turned up at my shop ~ I was soon telling everyone to buy it!
The book began as a response to the removal of everyday nature words – among them ‘acorn’, ‘bluebell’, ‘kingfisher’ and ‘wren’ – from a widely used children’s dictionary, because those words were not being used enough by children to merit inclusion.
… soon grew to become a much broader protest at the loss of the natural world around us, as well as a celebration of the creatures and plants with which we share our lives, in all their wonderful, characterful glory.
THE LOST WORDS
