knitting & poetry
in Much Wenlock
A blissful afternoon of poetry by the fireside with knitting and afternoon tea!
I was enjoying myself too much to even think of taking photographs, so my main picture today is of Molly at Ippikin – who gives so much to our lovely High Street and is much loved by all the knitters who attended this afternoon!
The majority of today’s poems were taken from a marvellous little anthology called Tools of the Trade – poems for new doctors, published by the Scottish Poetry Library and Polygon, in 2019, which is given to all newly graduated doctors in Scotland – they do get things right there, don’t they! Any of the poems not referenced in the list below are from this anthology.
I bought my copy of this book from Deborah Alma at the Poetry Pharmacy in Bishops Castle, and I strongly urge you to get a copy – there are many wonderful poems in it that were not included in our reading today. You can also get 10 Poems About Kindness and 10 Poems About Happiness (edited by our lovely Deb!) from the Poetry Pharmacy too: both published by Candlestick Press.
